LONDON — There’s getting creative with your Christmas lights, and then there’s… well, this.

On Monday, a British man was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence after the penis-themed fairy lights strung up outside his house attracted police attention.

Steve McGawley from Blackpool, UK, filmed an exchange he had with two police officers outside his house on Monday night and shared the footage on Facebook.

McGawley’s lights originally spelled out the word “cunt” (he also shared footage of this display on his Facebook page), but he later switched the lights to a picture of a bell accompanied by the word “end”.

“On Monday, December 19, officers attended an address on Rodwell Walk following a number of complaints in relation to fairy lights on the outside of the house,” a police spokesperson told the Blackpool Gazette

“Despite attempts to engage with the occupant, the lights were not taken down and a 43-year-old man from Blackpool was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and issued with a penalty notice for disorder.”
